
Surf Retreat Terms and Conditions
1. Acceptance of Terms
By booking a surf retreat at The Sevana, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully before booking.

2. Booking & Payment

A £600 / £1200 (30%) non-refundable deposit is required to secure your place.
-
The balance must be paid 60 days prior to the retreat start date.
-
If the balance is not received by the due date, your booking may be cancelled and your deposit forfeited.
-
Your booking is confirmed only once full payment has been received.

3. Cancellations & Refunds (by guest)
-
90+ days before retreat start: Refund of payments made, minus non-refundable deposit and 10% admin/transaction fee.
-
60–89 days before retreat start: 50% refund of payments made, minus non-refundable deposit and 10% admin/transaction fee.
-
Less than 60 days before retreat start: No refund.
-
No-shows or early departure: Non-refundable.

Cancellations must be submitted in writing via email. A confirmation of cancellation will be sent by return email.

4. Cancellations (by us)
We may cancel a retreat if:

Extreme weather, safety concerns, or unforeseen circumstances arise.
-
The minimum number of participants is not met.
If we cancel, you will receive a full refund of all payments, including the deposit. We cannot be held responsible for any additional expenses (flights, visas, etc.).

5. What’s Included
Retreat packages typically include:

6 / 13 nights boutique accommodation

Daily surf coaching (small groups, max 5 per coach)

Surf transport to and from breaks
-
Video analysis and surf theory
-
Use of gym, yoga area and pool
-
Chef-prepared meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Note: Any inclusions not used are non-transferable and non-refundable.

6. Health, Safety & Participation

Surfing and related activities carry inherent risks. Participation is at your own risk.

You must inform us of any medical conditions, injuries, or allergies that could affect your participation.
-
We reserve the right to refuse participation in surf or physical activities if we believe it may compromise your safety or the safety of others.

Guests must follow all safety instructions given by surf coaches, yoga teachers, and staff. Failure to do so may result in exclusion from activities without refund.

7. Liability Waiver
By booking, you acknowledge:

Surfing, yoga, fitness, and travel in Sri Lanka may involve risks.

The Sevana is not liable for injuries, illnesses, accidents, or loss/damage of personal belongings.
-
Participation is voluntary, and you accept full responsibility for your own safety.

8. Accommodation & Facilities

Rooms are shared or private as booked, with a maximum of two people per cabana unless otherwise arranged.
-
Towels and linens provided are for in-room use only.
-
You are responsible for treating all property, furnishings, and equipment with care. Costs for damage or breakages will be charged to you.
-
Smoking is not permitted inside rooms, yoga/gym areas, or other communal facilities.
-
Pets are not permitted.

9. Code of Conduct

Respect for fellow guests, staff, and the local community is expected at all times.
-
Disruptive, disrespectful, or unsafe behaviour may result in removal from the retreat without refund.

Quiet hours and community guidelines must be respected.

10. Travel & Insurance

Guests are responsible for arranging valid passports, visas, and required vaccinations.
-
Travel insurance is mandatory and must include medical cover, cancellation, accident, and personal belongings. Proof of insurance may be requested before your retreat begins.

11. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka. Any disputes will be resolved through arbitration in Sri Lanka.
